Apple to Host Special Event at Apple Park for WWDC 2024
Apple announced that they will not be holding a traditional in-person Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) event this year, but instead, select developers and students will be invited to a special event at the Apple Park campus on June 10. The event will include a keynote viewing party, “exciting new programming,” meetings with Apple experts, and special activities.
Attendees will be selected through a lottery process, and those eligible include current Apple Developer Program members, Apple Entrepreneur Camp alumni, and Swift Student Challenge winners. Registration is open through April 3 on Apple’s developer website, although costs for attending the event will not be covered by Apple.
Media invites for the event have not yet been sent out, but WWDC 2024 is scheduled to take place from June 10 to June 14. For those not selected to attend the event in person, the keynote event will be available to watch on Apple’s website or YouTube. Coverage of WWDC 2024 will also be available on MacRumors.com and through the MacRumorsLive Twitter account.
Apple plans to share all WWDC sessions and events on its Developer app and a new Apple Developer YouTube channel. This marks a shift from the traditional in-person WWDC event, but Apple is still working to provide a unique and memorable experience for developers and students.
