Sebastian Gorka Slams Alex Jones: “Professional Conspiracy Theorists Are A Menace”

in News/Politics by

Sebastian Gorka, a former Deputy Assistant to the President and current contributor to Breitbart News, has slammed Alex Jones, the head of competing news site Infowars, as a “menace” in an interview with Recoil magazine.

When asked about his view of Jones, Gorka conceded that while he “[loves] conspiracy theories as diverting entertainment,” he believes “professional conspiracy theorists are a menace.”

“It’s not an accident that outrageous forgeries and smears such as the Protocols of the Elders of Zion are still printed and widely available in the Middle East,” Gorka continued. “Conspiracy theories are dangerous. Those who propagate them should be shunned.”

Gorka was regarded as an advocate for nationalist policies during his tenure in the Trump administration, where he was closely associated with Breitbart‘s prominent Executive Chairman and former White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon. After allegedly being dismissed by White House Chief of Staff John Kelly, Gorka publicly slammed the administration’s decision to expand the U.S. military presence in Afghanistan. Since leaving the White House, both Bannon and Gorka have spoken around the country about their support for the ‘America First’ principles that defined Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign, and stumped for political candidates such as Roy Moore whom they believe will continue the push for their anti-establishment agenda.

Gorka’s remarks reflect a growing feud between the two publications, which compete for the same pro-Trump, nationalist audience. Both Bannon and Jones saw their stocks rise after the election of President Trump, whom both men are reportedly in communication with. Behind the scenes, Breitbart staffers increasingly see Infowars as an amateurish and unprofessional operation that often undermines the ‘America First’ movement, while Infowars contributor Roger Stone, also a former Trump aide, has publicly been a harsh critic of Bannon’s tenure in the West Wing, arguing that Bannon failed the President’s base.
