The Liberty Conservative – March 31, 2022
Los Angeles Clippers faced a setback on Tuesday night as their star player Kawhi Leonard was forced to leave the game against the Minnesota Timberwolves due to back spasms. Leonard’s status for the team’s upcoming backs-to-back road games remains uncertain as he has been dealing with the back issue for a couple of days, according to Coach Tyronn Lue.
Leonard, who has been having his healthiest season as a Clipper playing in 58 of 64 games so far, adds to the team’s injury concerns as James Harden is also nursing a shoulder injury. The Clippers suffered a 22-point collapse against the Wolves after Leonard exited the game, leading to a victory for the Wolves in the season series.
Despite the absence of injured All-Star Karl-Anthony Towns, the Wolves managed to outplay the Clippers with Anthony Edwards scoring 30 points in the victory. Coach Lue emphasized the need for mental toughness after the loss, as the Clippers currently sit fourth in the Western Conference standings and are unsure of Leonard’s availability for the upcoming road trip.
As the Clippers face ongoing injury challenges, including Leonard’s uncertain status, the team will need to regroup and refocus to maintain their position in the highly competitive Western Conference. Stay tuned for further updates on Leonard’s condition and the Clippers’ upcoming games on The Liberty Conservative.
