SpaceX Prepares for Potential Starship Launch
SpaceX is gearing up for what could be a historic moment as it is just two days away from potentially launching its Starship on its 3rd test flight. The company is eagerly awaiting a launch license from the Federal Aviation Administration, with expectations that it will be received before the morning of Thursday, March 14th.
Teams at SpaceX are working diligently on preparing Ship 28 and Booster 10 for the upcoming launch, with tasks including installing the Flight Termination System on Ship 10. Scaffolding has been removed from Booster 10, indicating that work on that section has been completed.
Excitement is building at the South Texas launch site as people, including launch photographers and SpaceX enthusiasts, are beginning to arrive. Some enthusiasts have even brought Cybertrucks for photo ops with the rocket.
For this mission, SpaceX is aiming for a suborbital trajectory with a splash down just East of Madagascar in the Indian Ocean, with the goal of increasing public safety. NASA has also mentioned the possibility of a fuel transfer demonstration during the mission.
Updates on the launch will be provided as soon as the FAA approves the launch license. With the anticipation mounting, all eyes are on SpaceX as they prepare for this potentially groundbreaking moment in space exploration.
