What’s Next For Gun Policy Reform?

With pressure on both the administration and congressional leaders to move forward with gun policy reforms, it was no surprise that Monday’s White House Press briefing received a myriad of questions regarding President Trump’s position on various gun policy proposal. President Trump has met with students and parents of Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School, state Governors, and NRA leader Wayne LaPierre to discuss the initiation of safer schools and communities. According to Press Secretary Sarah Sanders, the goal of the administration is to “protect the rights of law-abiding Americans, while keeping guns out of the hands of those who pose a… Keep Reading

What’s Next For North Korea?

Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders held a press conference along with Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on Monday afternoon. Tillerson reiterated the importance of President Trump’s trip throughout Asia and the diplomatic efforts to suppress nuclear proliferation in North Korea.  When discussing the trip’s goals, Tillerson said, “We continue to turn the pressure up on North Korea by getting the countries to join and take actions on their own.” North Korea has been heavily sanctioned for quite some time by United Nations resolutions designed to incentivize the country to stop its nuclear development program among other strategic goals. Today, the Treasury Department slapped… Keep Reading

Gen. Kelly Responds To Rep. Wilson’s Claims Of Trump’s “Insensitive” Call

Absolute silence fell over the White House Press Briefing room as White House chief of staff Gen. John Kelly addressed the media on Thursday afternoon. His appearance comes after the controversy between Trump and Congresswomen Frederica Wilson, who made claims that President Trump’s phone call remarks to the Gold Star widow of Sgt. La David T. Johnson were “insensitive.” Kelly expressed that he was “heartbroken and stunned” to hear the claims made by Wilson. Kelly went through the process for a soldier that dies in combat and the tradition that Presidents typically write letters to the families of the fallen… Keep Reading

President Trump: We Have Great Confidence In Greece As A Nation

President Trump hosted the Greek Prime Minister, Alexis Tsipras, on Tuesday afternoon at the White House for a joint press conference. After facing a major economic downturn, Greece is finally emerging from its eight-year financial crisis. The country is making efforts to execute its debt relief plan through increased investments and continued growth in its transportation and energy sectors. Tsipras stated that “we look forward to attracting U.S. investments” along with affirming that Greece’s friendship with the U.S. is still strong and “based on values that we jointly share.” The statement comes as a surprise due to Tsipras’ criticisms against Trump back… Keep Reading

Injured Vegas Survivor Stood Up To Greet The President

President Donald Trump visited Las Vegas on Wednesday to provide support for law enforcement first responders, the medical trauma team, and survivors of the deadly attack. The visit comes after the worst mass shooting in U.S. history, which killed at least 58 people attending a country music festival near the Mandalay Bay Hotel, where the shooter was said to have shot from the 32nd floor. Thomas Gunderson, a 28-year-old survivor of the shooting, received a personal visit in the hospital with his family from Trump and the First Lady. Bernie Sanders May Have Sold Out; But His Supporters Will Not

Bernie Sanders may be calling for unity within the Democratic Party, but that doesn’t mean that his supporters will oblige. Yesterday, I spent the day live streaming the Bernie Sanders demonstrations outside of the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It took mere moments around these activists to realize that these revolutionaries were not planning to roll over and support the Democratic nominee. I interacted with hundreds of Bernie Sanders supporters throughout the day. Activists and delegates alike were adamant about one thing: their voices were being suppressed and they were tired of taking it lying down. Demonstrators felt betrayed and used… Keep Reading

Of Course The Media Was Biased: The RNC Wasn’t a Disaster

Words I would use to describe the Republican National Convention held in Cleveland this past week: magical, historical, energetic, patriotic, peaceful. I was literally buzzing with excitement after the first night of the convention. Talk about an impactful experience — and it was only day one! Thousands of patriotic Americans converged on Cleveland to show their support for the Republican nominee. Between the young kids handing out free water to police on the streets, to the jovial laughs ringing through the convention halls, the air was light and the energy positive. I watched Americans of all socio-economic backgrounds embrace each… Keep Reading

The Libertarian Party Blew It For Converts

Oh, Libertarian Party… You could have had me. You were this close! I am the demographic you are trying to reach out to: disenfranchised with the Republican Party presidential nominee; a lover of liberty not of political parties; someone searching for a new place to call home that represents the ideas I hold dear to my heart. I was optimistically hopeful. I spent my entire day tuned into the Libertarian Party convention hoping to see the legitimacy that I was yearning for. So what's did you do for Memorial Day weekend, Kaytee? Oh just live tweeted the #LibertarianConvention all weekend.… Keep Reading
